Professional's Choice Award
S.W. Scheipeter Construction is a proud recipient of the Professional's Choice Award. In 2007, the Professional's Choice Award was created for builders to have their homes judged by professional building inspectors. There are no categories, though nominees compete against themselves and must score 70 out of 100 possible points to win. Nominees are judged on basis of overall excellence in workmanship.

Scheipeter Construction has been named one of Qualified Remodeler magaz ine’s Top 500 remodelers in 2008, 2007 and 2006.  The annual list, published in the fall, includes the nation’s top design/build, full-service and specialty companies in the multi-billion-dollar construction remodeling business.

S.W. Scheipeter Construction has received seven Homer Awards: one in 2002, two in 2003, two in 2004 and two in 2006. The Homer Award is the "Oscar" of the local residential building industry, recognizing excellence in design, workmanship and value in residential construction projects throughout the St. Louis region. In 2004, the HBA celebrated its 36th consecutive Homer Awards program for builder achievement. The Homer Awards is the most widely recognized new home building competition in the St. Louis area and is open only to HBA members.

Chrysalis Award
S.W. Scheipeter Construction received its first Chrysalis Award in 2006 for the category:  “Best Project – Finished Basement.”  The Chrysalis Awards program began in 1993 to select the best remodeling projects in the United States in various categories.  This prestigious competition is open to all remodeling contractors – not just companies who are members of particular associations.  Judges are staff members of national consumer magazines such as “Better Homes & Gardens”, “Southern Living Magazine” and many other publications.  Project judging criteria include design, use of materials, use of space and integration into the existing space.  Winning projects are displayed on the Chrysalis Awards website and receive coverage in “Qualified Remodeler” magazine.


CGR (Certified Graduate Remodelor) logo CGR (Certified Graduate Remodelor™)
Steve Scheipeter (President/Owner of S.W. Scheipeter Construction) is one of only 2000 professional remodelers nationwide who have attained the CGR certification. CGR is an exclusive professional designation recognizing those remodelers who demonstrate exceptional business integrity, technical competence and a solid track record of customer satisfaction. To earn the CGR designation, a remodeler must complete a series of industry-specific education courses, provide letters of recommendation, proof of licensing and insurance and adhere to a strict Code of Ethics. CGR stands for professionalism, experience and a commitment to quality.

The Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation program teaches the technical, business management, and customer service skills essential to competing in the fastest growing segment of the residential remodeling industry: home modifications for the aging-in-place.

S.W.Scheipeter Construction is a member of the The Home Builders Association of Greater St. Louis. The HBA helps create a region that promotes and protects the viability of the building industry by serving its members, who strive to meet the housing needs of all Americans. Having began in 1934, and with over 1,100 members, the local HBA is one of the most active local building industry associations in the country. The HBA is responsible for the geographic areas of St. Louis City and the counties of St. Louis, St. Charles, Jefferson, Lincoln, Pike, Montgomery, Franklin, Warren and Washington.

The NAHB Remodelors Council keeps its members at the forefront of industry developments and increases consumer awareness of the remodeling industry through a variety of programs and publications. In addition to keeping members up-to-date on issues such as lead-based paint and hazardous materials, the council works with members to enhance the awareness of consumers in their markets.

Remodelor™ 20 Clubs are a unique networking and educational opportunity designed to help Remodeler members maximize the benefit of NAHB membership. The clubs are comprised of similar type remodelers from non-competing markets who meet several times a year to share information and learn from each other ways to improve their operations. The members share and compare business information, look for trouble spots and offer each other advice on how to improve their performance.
